Wildflower Heroes meeting

Wildflower Heroes - End of Project

Can you believe that it's been over 3 years since the National Wildflower Centre first started its HLF project "Wildflower Heroes"?

During that time we have:

Welcomed over 60,000 visitors
Run over 500 workshops enabling the public to enjoy the environment
Welcomed 480 schools and 12,000 children
Made 12 giant flags inspired by the wildflower hero flowers
Created willow fences round the site
Hosted 600 groups for lunches and events
Painted our Superlambanana - superbeesbuzzbyawildlambanana!
Watched Indian dancers and musicians teach children and adults
Seen Tai Chi performed in our barn
Had fun at the Eden Project with folk from Liverpool
Made giant poppies and bluebells from recycled materials
Sown thousands of poppies in Liverpool City Centre
Watched 400 nursery children count ladybirds and spiders
Brought people from all over the region to see our flowers
Made beautiful embroidered banners to decorate our conservatory
Created handmade mosaics and tiles for the walls around the gardens

… and we couldn't have done it without you!

Thank you for your support
Best wishes,

Lucinda, Matt, Caroline, Jan, Alison, Claire & Christine
And everyone at the National Wildflower Centre
