Practitioner
Workshop 7th May 2009 A group of 20 Knowsley health practitioners and community champions went on a fact finding trip to the award winning Target Wellbeing project in Burnley, Offshoots in Townley Park. Manager Phil Dewhurst had inspired everyone at our November 2008 Nature and Public Health open day at the National Wildflower Centre, with his presentation about this organic food growing project in the heart of Burnley. We wanted to see some best practice and learn more about how we could start to develop community food growing in Knowsley to improve health and wellbeing. |

Great Outdoors is talking to local people about the impact that nature and wildflowers have on their physical and mental health and wellbeing. We have started some conversations called' Nature on the Bench'. People sit and chat with us about their experience - and love for - nature and wildflowers and help us to understand more about how nature supports us in our daily lives. We
also want to trace older peoples' memories of the close contact they enjoyed
with nature, We will be adding more ' Nature on the Bench' conversations - if you are a Knowsley resident and would like to take part, please contact jpell@landlife.org.uk or tel Janet Pell 0151 737 1819 |
