Sowing Wildflowers in Knowsley
Great Outdoors is sowing wildflower seed into 15 parks and greenspaces in Knowsley, Merseyside. This is the third year of this project, which won the UK Public Health Association Michael Varnam Award for Health, Humanity and Environment in 2009. Awards

We worked with Knowsley MBC's Playbus and Play Pathfinder teams to involve young people in wildflower sowing events in parks. These teams have been developing more challenging play areas for Knowsley young people and running outreach activities based in parks after school to engage them. We aim to develop this partnership through a Creative Play workshop event at the National Wildflower Centre in mid June 2010, bringing the former Play Officer from Cornwall's award winning Eden Project to share good practice.
