Summer birds and butterflies at the National Wildflower Centre

Big numbers of butterflies, moths and dragonflies were recorded this year.
17 butterfly species included:

Red Admiral
Peacock
Painted Lady
Speckled Wood
White Letter Hairstreak.

24 Moths included:

Elephant Hawkmoth
Popular Hawkmoth
Hummingbird Hawkmoth
Red Underwing
Silver Y
Vapourer Moth
Gold Spot

7 Dragonfly species included:

Southern Aeshna
Brown Aeshna
Common Sympetrum
Common Blue Damselfly
Broard Bodied Libellula

A new bird survey counted 54 species in the Park, surrounding area and
at the Centre, including:

Black headed Gull
Chiffchaff
Coal Tit
Kestrel
Nuthatch
Redwing
Song Thrush
Sparrow Hawk
Tawny Owl
Whitethroat
Yellowhammer
