The deep yellow flowers are grouped on upright stalks growing from rosettes of crinkled leaves.

Cowslip wild flower plants are a good nectar source for butterflies and bees.

Cowslips are the food plants of the caterpillars of the Duke of Burgundy Fritillary.

Height: 10-30cm (4-12in)
Flowers: Flowers April to  May.
